Jenna Ortega is sharing new details about the chaotic fun behind Sabrina Carpenter’s Taste music video, which paired the two stars in a darkly comic battle filled with horror-movie twists.
While reflecting on the shoot, Ortega said some of the physical action was handled with a loose, spontaneous approach rather than being tightly choreographed. The video leans heavily into exaggerated violence and slapstick horror, with Carpenter and Ortega repeatedly trying to outdo each other in an escalating rivalry.
One detail Ortega remembered involved the chainsaw featured near the end of the video. She recalled that the prop had been given a playful nickname inspired by Carpenter’s music, connecting the over-the-top weapon to the singer’s hit Espresso.
Released in 2024, Taste became one of Carpenter’s most visually distinctive videos, mixing pop glamour with campy horror. Ortega’s appearance also gave the project an extra connection to the genre, thanks to her well-known work in darker film and television roles.
